Personal
"I was in practice in Rochester Minnesota for over eight years before moving to the United Arab Emirates. Rochester is a top international health care destination, and because of this, I had the opportunity to treat a number of patients from the Emirates. The patients I had the pleasure to serve seemed pleased to discover a form a health care that could help eliminate their pain without the use of drugs or the need for surgery. Many symptoms common to the people of the Middle East (including neck pain, headaches, arm symptoms, back pain, muscle spasms, leg symptoms and disc problems) were previously only given three options: drugs, surgery, or instructions to "live with it." It is because of my many positive experiences with international clientele that I chose to move my family to the UAE and share my medical specialty with the people of the United Arab Emirates, thereby providing a non-drug, non-surgical option for treatment."

Academic Excellence
"I believe a solid academic background is the cornerstone to providing quality chiropractic care. A strong academic background assists us as chiropractors in recognizing what conditions typically respond to chiropractic care and which require a medical referral. Many people do not realize the rigorous training involved in becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic. The seven years of my training have included courses in physics, anatomy, biochemistry, microbiology and pathology, just to name a few. The big difference between chiropractic doctors and medical doctors is that the chiropractor specializes in the spinal adjustment and other noninvasive therapies."

An Educator
"I truly believe that when chiropractors and medical doctors can recognize what conditions can be treated most effectively with each type of therapy, patients benefit. This vision, along with increasing interest in alternative forms of therapy, has resulted in many opportunities to educate others on the topic of chiropractic care. I see continued communication leading to increased cooperation. As the different branches of health care learn more about one another, patients will reap the benefit."

Personal
"Being helped by chiropractic care as a young man inspired me to pursue a career in Chiropractic Medicine. After seven years of training and over eight years in private practice, I have successfully treated thousands of patients and helped them gain relief from neck pain, back pain, headache, arm pain, leg pain and disc problems. I welcomed the invitation from my colleague, Dr.Troy Amdahl, to share my professional expertise and vision in establishing the specialty of Chiropractic Medicine in the United Arab Emirates. Undoubtedly, the citizens of the UAE will soon find as Americans now know, that Chiropractic Works! It is a very effective non-drug, non-surgical option in health care ."

The intense curriculum has prepared me to help patients regain their health naturally, without the use of drugs and surgery. Dr. Oudi Abouchacra

Personal
"After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto, I then completed my postgraduate doctorate degree at Parker College of Chiropractic in Texas. I returned to my hometown in Toronto Canada and opened my own practice. As the clinical director of Dixie Park Wellness Centre, a wellness based chiropractic clinic, I had a wonderful opportunity to meet patients with a myriad of health conditions. From neck pain to disc injuries, patients have sought out the benefits of chiropractic care. With few exceptions, I personally believe that when the principles of health and wellness are applied, patients can get beyond aches and pains, sprains and strains and position themselves in reach of expressing their full health potential. I am honored to be part of the health care team in the UAE and look forward to serving patients in both English and Arabic, with chiropractic care, a much needed non drug, non surgical approach in this region.”

Academic Excellence
"I have always had a thirst for knowledge whether in the classroom setting or elsewhere. The strong academic training at Parker College in Texas has provided the basics, namely the structure and the function of the human body. The misconception for many lies in chiropractic education. It would shock most people to find out that there is large overlap between the education and training in chiropractic and medical colleges. The understanding of anatomy, physiology, and radiology, just to name a few fundamental courses, truly empowers us as doctors to provide care with professionalism and certainty. With my undergraduate work in psychology and my post-chiropractic interest in psychology, personal development and stress management, I have been able to supplement my clinic work with work shops and lectures which help to address the true cause of symptoms and empower patients with preventative strategies."

An Educator
"I have always been an inspired by education and by awareness campaigns. Doesn't everything begin with a seed of information to awaken our consciousness? My inspiration for education was fueled by the fact that the condition of my father’s spine was discovered at a point of no return. He always said that people have a right to know their health choices. Ever since then I have tried to get the option of chiropractic care to patients and health professionals in the community.”

Dr. Reem Awad

Personal
"I have always had a passion for nutrition, fitness, and wellness. Growing up I knew
I wanted to be a Doctor but was undecided about the specific field of study. What I did
know that invasive approaches, like medication and surgery should not be the only choices
we had. I wanted something else, something that addressed problems at a deeper level. It
was then that I learned that this is what Doctors of Chiropractic are all about. Their holistic
approach to health care put an end to my search. With a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology, from the University of Western Ontario, I was off to Chiropractic University - National University of Health Sciences in Chicago, Illinois. There I received my Doctorate in Chiropractic and Bachelors degree in Human Biology. I then pursued my love for nutrition and earned a certification as a Clinical Nutritionist. After graduating, I practiced in Chicago in a multi-disciplinary clinic and worked with a team of medical doctors, chiropractic doctors, and physical therapists with a common goal; overall patient wellness. Drugs and surgery were used in the clinic, but truly represented a last resort. Thousands of patients suffering from a wide spectrum of neuromusculoskeletal conditions regained their health and transformed their lives through natural Chiropractic care. I continue to love witnessing such transformations and I am excited to be part of the CSC health care team in the UAE."

Academic Excellence
"My patients are always surprised when I tell them that chiropractic school curriculums are very similar to that of medical schools. The difference lies primarily in the emphasis. Chiropractic school emphasizes anatomy, physiology, neurology, biomechanics, x-ray, and nutrition. Medical school students receive more class hours in pharmacology and pathology. The intense training at National University of Health Sciences helped me develop my confidence in diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of human ailments from pediatrics to geriatrics from acute and chronic conditions to preventative/wellness care."

An Educator
"My mission as a Doctor of Chiropractic is to empower patients with vital health information and to inspire them to take responsibility of their health and wellness. It is much easier to maintain health than it is try to regain it after it's gone. Therefore, educating about how to prevent disease is my objective with each and every patient."

Certified Specialist
"In addition to standard chiropractic training, I attended numerous seminars that focused on the care of pregnant mothers and children. More and more parents are seeking chiropractic care for their children, since many adult spinal issues begin from early traumas-as early as birth. Even so called 'natural' birthing methods can stress an infant's spine and developing nervous system. This can result in newborn health complaints such as colic, sleeping disturbances, breathing problems and nursing difficulties. Beyond the spine, my passion for Nutrition inspired me to earn a CCN (Certified Clinical Nutritionist) under the sponsorship of the Clinical Nutrition Certification Board (CNCB). This meant extensive training in nutritional supplementation, detoxification, and weight management. Nutritional health and Chiropractic care go hand in hand as key players in the overall recipe for Wellness. My interest in wellness and alternative health care strategies has also led me to earn a Fellowship in the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture."
